| Does the BrakeAway work with Kuryakyn Iso grips? |
 |
Our NEW 5CP02 is designed to fit the Kuryakyn Iso Grips. You will need to lube the grip with dishsoap but it will slide over the rubber pads much easier than before. This new design will also fit all the way over the flange of the Iso grip without modification. Please see our News page for more information about the new 5CP02 BrakeAway.
The 6CP01 BrakeAway for the Harley Davidson will not fit over the Kuryakyn Iso Grips
We do not have a cruise control to accomodate this combination at this time.
The 5CP01 BrakeAway will work perfectly with the Kuryakyn Iso grips without modification on most of the bikes on the metric fit list. However, there are a couple of differences in the installation.
1. The rubber pads on the grip make it slightly larger in diameter than the stock grips. You will need to soap up the grip with dishwashing liquid so the cruise control will slip over. Use the thinnest rubber strip, it's a tight fit but it will go on.
2. The flange diameter is also larger than the stock flange so the slip ring stops about 1/4 to 3/8" short of the switch housing. The flange ends up looking like a smaller chrome ring between the switch housing and the cruise control. Most of our Kuryakyn customers are happy with the way it looks. Some BrakeAway users have turned or otherwise reduced the flange diameter on the grip so the unit slips all the way on. This looks a little cleaner but
requires a lathe or a skilled steady hand with a dremel or a sander to keep things running true. This modification is required for the unit to work on the Kawasaki models which have a pocket or cut out area on bottom back side of the brake lever.

| Does the BrakeAway compensate throttle position to maintain consistant speed up or down hills? |
 |
No, The BrakeAway cruise control is a mechanical friction devise which will hold your throttle in place when set. You can overide the position by turning the throttle up or down without disengaging the unit. The throttle position will stay where you set it until the cruise is released by the front brake or the manual push lever.

| Is there a BrakeAway available for Indian Motorcycles? |
 |
Yes, the 6CP01 Harley Davidson model will fit many of the Indian Motorcycles. However, it requires an adaptor bushing so it can be mounted to the slightly smaller stock grip.
The price is $219.00 and is available by phone order only at this time.

| Does the BrakeAway work with heated grips? |
 |
No. Depending on the position of the wire protruding from the flange of the heated grip, it is possible for it to become entangled in the BrakeAway mounting hardware when you turn the throttle. Due to this safety concern, we do not recommend this combination.
